BUILDING REHABILITATION FOR 24 HOUSING, GARAGES, STORAGE AND COMMERCIAL IN GENOVA STREET 5, MADRID
Genova 5 has been an exciting challenge.
On the one hand, one reason was rehabilitating a building from 1920 with all construction challenges posed by getting ready to use an old building. Everything new and invisible: structure, sophisticated facilities, carpentry,... Another challenge was to build under the building three floors without pillars to which the cars descend by a glass elevator. And we think as part of the technical challenge that everything is defined and that the economic gap is zero.
On the other hand, to desidning a new residential model. The large houses of the time and the district were transformed into luxury furnished apartments for rent for short stays.
In the office we spent our time between the careful interior design of the building, and site furnishings, interior finishes of the apartment complex, caring for complicated foundations or post-tensioned structures, milling design, but also, the new legal framework for this new urban residential model.
