RESIDENCE AND DAY CENTER FOR ASPROSUB IN MORALES DEL VINO, ZAMORA

This is a building with some autonomy in each of its functions. A residence for 38 inmates and a living area for 75 people including those who sleep in residence and a similar number of external. Formally, the funcitonal separation is expressed by the orientation of the different zones; dining room, recreation room and day center, facing the South, to the garden. Residential areas to the East and West and the office area as a wedge between the two, facing north,to the access from the road.

Given the four meters of level difference in the plot, the landing of the ramps is used to place the access to the day center, while the main entrance is in the ground floor office area in the heart of the building. Finally, the garage and access of goods are transferred to the lower level. Therefore a gradation of applications and communication occurs according to the levels.

As for the image of the building, the facade of the day center is Campaspero stone and the roof is a concrete slab on which the formwork board was left on a glass crown that respects the tilt of the ramp and that of the ground. To the south it flies with proportion to how much it rises. The facade, roof and office structures are completely wooden, looking for a warmth for parents and users in their first meeting with the building. Walls grow only 2 meters high, allowing to see the geometry completely.

Finally, the Residence building maintains the strict order of the rooms emphasized with the brickwork modulation and the flat roof. The color on exterior wood, framing the views on the small windows, or differentiating areas, takes the center stage in understanding the building.
