SALGUEIRIÑOS URBANIZATION PROJECT. SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA. LA CORUÑA
At first it was left unnoticed.
In between the facilities, the earthworks and the road geometry, the birth of Corgo stream, humble in his expression, it seemed inhibited. Only the bank trees forming a jubilant gallery forest oaks, bidueiros, salgueiros and chestnut betrayed it.
Its water training is manifold, with widely scattered outcrops forced to do and bring to the surface a complex network of underground capture and driving.
The buddle where an old woman even did the laundry once a week, the winding path through the trees, the direct pipeline to the Catholic Monarchs Hostal (an almost archeological discovery), everything seemed to us like emotional passages, dreams around water.
And that's how urban facilities, hot asphalt, accessible sidewalks were replaced by the newly appointed river, gradually eroded as a stone erodes the endless drop.
Margins were cleaned and four carved granite squares as scenery of a ladder-tier, the laundry face wash and alphabet combinations of stone and water:
Step, riffle, bench, waterfall, plating, fountain, paving, pond, blockwork, siphon.
